[edit] Introduction

Welcome to the new and improved Game List! Actually, there are no games listed here. Instead, this page acts as a gateway to the extensive category systems that we use here at the Linux Gaming Wiki. You can browse by Genre, Licence, or Type of game. These categories are, by their very nature, up to date with all of our game pages. If you find that we have missed a game, please feel free to add it to the Wiki!

Adventures are typified by exploration, puzzle-solving, interaction with game characters, and a focus on narrative rather than reflex-based challenges. Unlike many other game genres, the adventure genre's focus on story allows it to draw heavily from other narrative-based art forms, such as literature and film. Adventure games encompass a wide variety of literary genres, including fantasy, science fiction, mystery, horror, and comedy. (more)

Card games are any games that use playing cards. The cards can be from a standard deck, several standard decks, a portion of the cards in a standard deck, or a special deck designed for a single game. bridgecs_tiny.jpg

Simulation games or sims are games that intend to simulate the world, or an aspect of it. They are a mixture of a game of skill, a game of chance and a game of strategy, which results in a simulation of a complex structure (like a stock exchange, or civilization flux). These games are quite current through their mirror of modern society. The benefit of this lies in the representation of complex situations of communal life, interconnections in society, and partial aspects of the economy (for example, the development of the railroad). (more)
